Plymouth Maritime Day offers a full-day of family friendly activities.  Here are just some of the
things you'll see at Town Pier!

National Marine Life Center
The National Marine Life Center (NMLC) is an
independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) rehabilitation
and release hospital for the treatment of
stranded sea turtles and seals, with future plans
to expand to treat dolphins, porpoises, and small
whales.  Their emphasis is to educate the public
about the needs and status of these important
animals and their environment, and to research
their health needs and threats in captivity and in
the wild.

Whale & Dolphin Conservation
Society
Established in 1987, the Whale and Dolphin
Conservation Society, WDCS, is the world's most
active charity dedicated to the conservation and
welfare of all whales, dolphins and porpoises (also
known as cetaceans).

Face Painting
Plymouth Maritime Day will be offering FREE face
painting at the Kid's Activities Tent on Town Pier.

Plymouth Cruises/Lobster Tales
Enjoy a Pirate Cruise in Plymouth Harbor with
Plymouth Cruises.

From 12 - 4 pm: See live lobsters, crabs & marine
life...Be sure to bring your camera for a picture of
"Rocky" the lobster.

7:30 - 10 pm: Boat Parade Cruise
Instead of just watching the Boat Parade, come sail
with us!  Be a part of the VIP fun & festivities.  Our
boat will be decked out with over 5,000 lights!!

Maritime Day.  Tickets must be purchased at the
Mayflower II ticket booth to tour this vessel.
The New Bedford Whaling Museum is a world-renowned
museum that brings to life the rich history of New Bedford and
the whaling industry. Located in the heart of the New Bedford
Whaling National Historical Park, the Museum features the
world’s largest whaling ship model, the world’s largest
scrimshaw collection, five whale skeletons including a blue
whale and North Atlantic right whale, and several interactive
exhibits including a replica fo’c’sle with working sail and
windlass.

Crafts provided at the Maritime Activity Day will include:
Make your own scrimshaw, sailors’ valentines, and whale
magnets

Have the opportunity to hold a real sperm whale tooth and
baleen, discover what blue whales eat and how big they grow,
and test your whale vision.
